Ted, as previously stated in the PLOT section, is the protagonist and narrator of this story. From his point of view, he's the only sane one in the group and the one who "saves" everyone by brutally killing them. After killing all the remaining humans, Ted gets punished by AM who turns him into a slimy, mucous, deformed creature who has no mouth [which will then inspire the title: I have no mouth and I must scream].
Ted is obviously an unreliable narrator. He keeps telling the audience he is fine and sane while constantly having paranoid and manic episodes; he obviously can't stand any of the humans trapped in the simulation alongside him, and constantly tries to frame them as heartless monsters who are against him at all times; In the end, after killing them, he describes himself as a hero who saved his companions by "setting them free". It is not specified in the book if dying actually gets you out of the simulation, however, Ted decides to believe it does.
In the very last page of the story, Ted is turned into the very personification of what he has Always been deep inside, a slimy monster with fog in his eyes (possibly reppresenting how he can't see even the most obvious truths), who can't move on and lives his life recalling the past. Here, Ted is judged with the law of retaliation. See AM's page for more info.
